My friend Lu Jia is organizing an event in Beijing called F.R.O.M. She invited me to make a video of myself ask three questions and answer them. So I did this quick piece last weekend with our Dim Sum breakfast. Sorry it’s kind of random : )
Tomorrow night they will have a party in Beijing to present a group of artists and designers born in 70s and 80s. And they will show some of my video projects: Straight Outta HK, Panda Express and Bump’n Grind. Check out more about the event here.
Straigh Outta HK music video is online, if you haven’t seen it yet. Credit list here. Thanks again for everyone’s on the list. The music is from Canto-core band Say Bok Gwai.
Please note that version two of the video is directed by Catherine Young. I have released all original footage to her to create the second version. Any one who’s interested in the project and want to edit your own version, please let me know. When you edit your own version of the video, you will be credited as director.
Last week of June me and many others had shoot Last Minute music video, one of Kelda’s DivaTV mixtape track. We spent two days on production in three main locations: studio, parking garage and south beach for day time shoot.
Believe it or not, I actually made storyboard for this shoot. Most of my projects in the past are 99% improvisation from director, team to the people in front of the camera. Making a story board this time is to better work with my director of photography Ryota Mori, who is a perfectionest. I was also open to work it out on different methods and the goal of this project is to make a good looking music video! I think I am getting better at giving people direction now.
Thank you for everyone on the credit list. Thank you for all the hard work!

This is a special episode of DivaTV reporting on San Francisco Art Institute’s MFA exhibition in Fort Mason. Following are five videos cover how a cargo container delivered into the space for my part of the installation, Kelda’s interview with artists and viewers on the day before the show and the opening night.
My hope was to have Kelda, someone completely outside of contemporary art context to be the host and critic of an art event, and create a realistic perspectic on art. Kelda has improvesed all the conversations and, of course as well as her reaction. My role is simply to have everyone on point, camera rolling, and go.
Thank you for everyone in front and behind the camera. And this is the crew:
Videographer: Ryota Mori, Lu Fang
Editor: Lu Fang, Dexter Reid
Assistant: Ling Hou
How it gets in there
A show reel includes projects: Plum in the Golden Vase (video), Cannibal Cafe (Improv video), The Unique Dancer (DVD compilation), Panda Express (installation), Straight Outta HK (music video), DivaTV (weekly TV series), Bump’n Grind (dance contest), and Fort Mason exhibiton.
Fort Mason show is up. We made it! Thank you for Eric Zhu (Double Fish) and Jon’s endeavor at installing the show. Without them I would not have done it. Thank you for Keldamuzik, Lingo and Eric’s performance. Before the performance, we have produced one hour live interviews with artists and viewers in the show: Keldamuzik as host, Ryota Mori as camera man, Dexter Reid as editor, Kavio as second camera man and Ling Hou as assistant. Dexter made to the show even he’s sick. I hope he feels better by now. In the beginning of the show, power for mine and the space next were out due to overusing electricity from one power source. All the TVs, projectors and speakers was dead for thirty minutes. People from Fort Mason management did not provide much help except suggested me to unplug other artists’ power. Luckily Cameron Hockenson pulled down another power outlet from the ceiling and separate the heavy usage of power. Thanks Cameron, life saver!
The video of the night is showing in Fort Mason right now. I am thinking to title the video “That is art!- Episode 9 of DivaTV”. Following clip is a video uploaded by Eric Zhu of his performance that night.
Finally this is the Panda Express video. Please watch and response with a video! Send me your link, add to the loop. Tell your friends about it.

Two weeks ago, through Jon I connected Keldamuzik to perform in CC Salon. This was the next day I went to Say Bok Gwai’s show in Red Devil Lounge. Both night I recorded extended footage and currently I am working on a two channel videos with them. This is a five minutes clip of Keldamuzik.
