Show Some Color project is moving forward. Thanks for the generous funding of Southern Exposure’s Alternative Exposure Grant, Show Some Color (Part 2) is going to take place on October 30 in 111 Minna. In June 07 we submitted grant proposal to SOEX under Fabricators, a group with primary members of Jon Phillips and I, and alternating collaborators based on projects. As many of the previous projects, the plan has been changing and evolving since then. Currently we are casting six women who will produce 5 minutes video about their racial identities with our camera crew. Interviews will take place this coming Wednesday at 111 Minna.

Part Two of the project in comparison to Part One has broader involvements. Not only participants in front of the camera but also people who are making the videos. After the casting, Jay Dedman, leading media producer from video blogging community will invite video bloggers to team up with each of the six women participants. So during the event, one video crew will be producing these five minutes video with women on the Zappa Room stage; and groups of video bloggers and women will also be making videos in the space.

Keep in mind that even we are working during the event, you are invited to come join, hang out and drink! This will be during happy hours of 111 Minna and also we will have drink tickets to give away. And of course there is no charge at the door as long as you are 21 or above. Raf Canedo and Eric Zhu will have DJ performance!
